Project Objective

The Snazzy kit was made for a packaging project. The guidelines were to create an aid kit that involved no adhesive. The feminine hygiene (period) kit’s purpose is to create a journal-looking pack that a woman can carry around while being discrete. It can aid girls in school who can put it in their lockers and take it out whenever they need it. Busy women on the go can also carry it around through out their meetings.

Project Challenge

One of the challenges of this project were figuring out a way to put the packaging/product together without the use of adhesive. Another challenge was trying to make all of the kit items cohesive while maintaining the use of only two colors.

Project Solution

I solved the no adhesive challenge by sewing the project. I sewed the exterior packaging after printing on fabric. I also sewed the individual packaging of the menstrual (period) kit which was made from paper. I was able to experiment with possibilities I didn’t know existed before starting this project. I solved the challenge of  cohesiveness by creating a grid system that I followed for all the layouts through out changing the shapes. As the color challenge, I played around with shades and tints to create a more diverse effect. The white was used to give more of a pop.

How Can Snazzy Save The Day

Snazzy_moodboard -14.jpg

Two dads can avoid the embarrassment of having to explain what a period is to their teenage daughter by giving her a self-explained Snazzy kit. She can then put it in her locker for emergencies when those special days of the month come unannounced

A busy on the go woman can carry her Snazzy pack wherever she goes without having to worry about taking her bag from the office to the restroom. No one will know what she is carrying since the kit’s outside appearance looks just like a journal.
